Multi-Level Two-Tone Composite Deck
About This Project
This Wedgewood Heights home called for a deck that could wrap around the back of the house and work with the angles of the existing footprint. We built a multi-level composite deck that follows the home’s bay windows and steps down to the lawn, giving the family room to gather, dine, and relax across distinct zones.
The standout feature is the two-tone layout. A warm Coconut Husk border and inset section frame the cooler Maritime Grey field, adding depth and definition rather than a single flat surface. White aluminum picket railing keeps the perimeter bright and open, and wide composite stairs make the transition to the backyard feel natural. Because the deck is built entirely from composite, it holds its colour through Edmonton’s freeze-thaw cycles and needs nothing more than the occasional rinse to stay looking new.
