About This Project

The deck was already there. What was missing was shade, privacy, and a reason to actually use it. We designed and built a custom pressure-treated pergola with horizontal privacy screens to give this homeowner exactly what they were looking for, a covered dining area that feels sheltered without feeling closed in. The horizontal slat wall blocks the neighbor’s view while still letting air flow through, and the lattice screen on the opposite side adds texture and character. The pergola was engineered to attach securely to the existing deck structure without any modifications to what was already built. Sometimes the best projects aren’t about starting from scratch, they’re about finishing what’s already there.
